I'd say so, myself. At the very least, it shows a degree of sincerity, although one could contend that presenting a product you know to be substandard is a poor decision, if not a callous one. That said, the best way to improve one's literacy (in any language) is to seek an outside perspective on the matter; better still, to receive feedback from someone already fluent in the language(s) in question. ...That's just my take, of course, but still.
